According to Surfers Against Sewage, 100,000 marine mammals and turtles and a million sea birds are killed by marine plastic pollution annually.
Throughout this documentary, we've explored the price of plastic in a financial capacity, as well as the impact our reliance has on our planet. The biggest implication plastic waste has is through marine pollution. As Jo Hand, CEO of Giki mentioned at the beginning of The Price of Plastic, 8 million pieces of plastic go into the sea every day, and if we don't address the problem, there'll likely be more plastic in the sea than fish by 2025.
Our infographic, supported through research by FairPlanet, illustrates the biggets pollutants of our oceans, with 6 of the top 10 being predominantly plastic-based.
Has this made you rethink how much your plastic consumption is harming our planet?
